Australian film maker and architect Paul Witzig made three classic surf films documenting the shortboard revolution from 1967 to 1971. Hot Generation, Evolution and Sea of Joy. Surfer/artist/filmaker Jeremy Rumas is making progress on his Bali surf film opus, Hangs Upon Nothing. It’s shot in 16mm with a classic Bolex camera and features the surfing talents of brothers Mikala and Daniel Jones and a cast of local rippers. An original soundtrack by Turbofire to Zenith puts it in the this-is-a-real-film category. Rumas has been shooting and editing this film between going to school and working odd jobs.
