Alex Kopps isn’t SURFING in the Present, though, is he?

I mean, I like his art and all, but lets keep the movies focused on really GOOD surfers.

The issue I have with all of these hipsters is it’s more about the boards and the art than the actual surfing. They are *so* precious about everything, it can be pretty annoying.

The board was made for Alex Knost but ended up getting surfed by a guy named Shannon—he’s the one holding the board in the group photo…

Post corrected, thanks Mani. I believe that Alex Kopps did the Mandala logo, so I got Kopps and Knost mixed up. They both rip.

Alex rips and is a down-to-earth human. He and some buds of his impressed my crew with their smooth style and humble approach. Only somebody with a negative agenda would go out of their way to post something lame like that.

I’m just saying…yes, his art is great, and, while he surfs WELL, he is most definitely not “surf movie” quality, i.e. Dan Malloy, Rastovich, etc.

    That is all.

The emo surf hipsters do lay it on a little thick sometimes, ha.

Sorry, but you can’t compare the Malloys or Rosta to Alext knost. Yes alex doesnt have the huge sweeping cutties…thats not his surfing.

You have to appreciate what he does on his log…its absolutely mind blowing and extremely fun tow watch. Style at its finest!

…and I am going to have to pass on his artwork…stick to the surf!

    ride what you want.

    ride it how you want.

how come some folks have to increase specificity and use the term ‘human’ rather than ‘person’ or ‘guy’? did i miss something?

seems to happen more with the art guy surfer types.

no big deal either way, just curious.

not my style, but a nice board. also, people can say what they will, but a knost can surf really well.

We’re talking about Alex Kopps, you freaks!

Now, JP has gone and changed the original post.

Knost rips and is most deserving of a movie spot.
