The new Malloy/Patagonia film Slow is Fast is showing at Bird’s Surf Shed tonight.

It’s always fun to cruise down to the Shed.

Beer will be provided and the event is FREE!
First come first in, limited to 250 people.

Avery Hanel event GH worthy cause

Avery Hanel Fundraiser Sat July 27th

Next Scheduled Event:

Fundraiser party for 2 year old Avery Hanel, granddaughter of our guru local shaper, Gary Hanel.

Avery has been battling a rare form of Leukemia. Currently undergoing stem cell treatment with promising results.

Avery’s parents, Peter and Alexandra Hanel, have not been able to work due to Avery’s month long stays in ICU at Rady’s Children Hospital in San Diego.

The Surfy community has rallied around the Hanels and have been generously supporting them during these difficult times.

When: Sat July 27th 12noon-12midnight

Where: American Legion Post 416

What: Live music all day (including GH’s band H2Old) food, drink specials, lots of raffle prizes, silent auction, kid’s art corner and face painting, out door grill.

All donations and proceeds go to the Avery “the brave” Hanel Fund.

Avery Hanel event worthy cause

Surfy Fun on the 101

It’s a big weekend down here in good ‘ol funky Leucadia, California.
The waves should be fun and the sun is going to burn thru the layer of June gloom.
The shop is stocked full of all kinds of rad surf junk you need to buy to be a real surfer.

It’s our 3rd annual Summer Fun on the 101 music festival.

Live music starts today at 3pm at Lou’s Records and Ducky Waddles.

Saturday 11:30am beach clean up at Moonlight Beach to Beacons.

Saturday in the little Leucadia Roadside Park music starts at noon.

Lots of great bands, raffle prizes, beer garden, surf films in the park after dark.
