Angry Sky

The view from my roof this morning. Moonkitty has been evacuated from the shop along with some finished boards. The surrounding residential neighborhood around Moonlight has been evacuated. Prayers and good vibes to all our friends whose homes are in the path of the flames.

We are chilling out. It’s very smokey and most of San Diego has been evacuated. It looks like the fire that was threatning Moonlight is contained and moved south. Carlsbad and Oceanside to the north are clear blue skies and epic waves.

Moonkitty has made the transition from shopcat to housecat pretty well. He’s asleep on my bed. Hope we dont have to evacuate him twice in one day. Just looked at the freeway its a parking lot. If we have to bail I quess I will just put the truck in 4 wheel drive and head for the beach.

when we came back thru SD yesterday it was spooky. the entire valley in del mar looked downright apocalyptic.

my hoping has NOTHING to do with waves for a few days. would just like to see a bunch of people in socal dodge a bunch of bullets.

Everything is looking good for us. A lot of people around the county lost their homes. Heavy day. The shop, your boards and all Moon crew is safe. I checked the surf this afternoon and it had a spooky perfection. Creepy. Lot’s of people surfing in the smoke, I bet they are feeling it now.

I know a really famous persons who at my darkest hours looked at me and said “this hour too, shall pass”, rather than “u r a idiot” and they were both surfboard shapers.
