Gary Stuber

Gary Stuber has been glassing custom surfboards since the 1960’s.
In 2005 some dipshit on an Internet surfing forum claimed Gary would soon be mowing lawns for a living because all surfboards would be made in China by 2006.
Manuel Caro shot this photo of Gary this week in the newly expanded Moonlight/Christenson surfboard factory in southern California.

JP is getting funny in his old age.

Calling Gary (my dad) simply a “laminator” or “glasser” is like calling Jimi Hendrix “a guy with a guitar”. He is a craftsmen and an artist of the highest order!

      great reply!

I was just thinking, I really don’t think dipshits who ride pop out china boards have a quiver of 8 Surftechs. Either they have one or two boards, because they are cheapskates who think their epoxy turd is the last board they will need to buy, or they have other traditional construction boards and their one Surftech.

People who order custom boards however, have a rack of about 8+ boards from their local shaper/glasser.
