Introducing the next run of Surfy Surfy Surfboard models, a special collaboration with shaper Todd McFarland.
The Padawan, the Apprentice and the Master.
Featured here is the Apprentice:
7’6″ x 21 1/2 x 2 7/8 (54.8L)
The Apprentice is an easy going eggy midlength, fun board type thingy.
A great wave catcher, especially helpful for bad shoulders. It surfs smooth and cruisy, with a soft forgiving full rail. Has a nice tucked edge in the tail for control. The 2+1 setup is popular for it’s combination of stability and looseness.
Standard SB1 sidebites by Futures are good or explore small sidebite options from True Ames.
Recommended center fin 6.5″ or 7″ Dobson by Fins Unlimited.
The curvey hip in the outline allows for a clean rotating cutback.
Todd McFarland is a good underground production located in North San Diego county.
Todd’s blue collar work ethic combined with his artistic sensibilities results in clean, functional surfboards.
6/4 glassing, airbrush color work, wetsanded gloss.
Built at Color Wheel Glassing in Oceanside, CA.
Surfy Surfy Phase III surfboards are available at The Board Source in Carlsbad, CA.
