Drop Knee Life

*I used to surf with Paul Roach a lot back in the day. His drop knee thing was a trip and he loved frothy sandy barrels. He was a good standup surfer and rode channel bottom single fins and weird Fish type boards before they were cool. My peers and I pretty much hated boogieboarding with a passion, but we loved and respected Paul Roach.

Roach is a legend, still is, dropknees better than any booger on this planet and stand up surfs better than most surfers would dream of…

Riding different crafts makes you less stupid.

Check what Kainoa Mc Gee does on a SUP or stick or boogieboard at Pipeline, check what Chris Won or Caving Yap or Kyle Maligro can do…

Ha I was lucky enough to grow up in Port Macquarie Australia the bodyboard capital of Australia, and even though I was a standup 3/4 of the people I surfed with rode bodyboards and ripped a few world champs! Got to surf with Paul Roach a few times, really loved his high stance. It seems like he has so much time on a wave, not hindered by rocker.

BB is underground punk performed outside of surfing mainstream. Things popular are funded by the capital corp. This keeps the wheels artlessly turning producing hordes of Slater clones. Slater was cuter easier to mark the poster the money stackers chose choose. Roach no saddle freethinker a slashing bashing waves and profit loss statements. Good on Roach for twenty years of freedom from the world corporation. This allowed millions of china made bbs available to anyone with ten bucks. These are the core worth more than a million Slater-surf-a-likes. Capital corp. still gets its share the rest of United States BBs unmolested. BBs worldwide respect your approach Roach. If Roach would pulled his punches in 92′ he might of played bridesmaid to Slater instead of decades of existence labor in countries round the planet. BB might have ended up a sellout to the WQS. Thanks Roach for your sacrifices. BBPP

drop knee is hard and to do a controlled snap or a big tail blow lipper or even traveling in the tube is very difficult because its all rail,i was paid by sponsers for bodyboarding before that entire sport went to shit without the support of contests, magazines, and sponsers discontinued but I had much success with powerful dropknee-winning the east coast dk championships,4th in the u.s. championships dropknee and 13th in the world at the pipeline d.k. championships and a lot of magazine photos dropknee and loved it until surfing opened my eyes to be my forever passion and am so stoked on surfing with all my friends at Sebastian inlet 1st peak to backdoor pipeline but b.boarding got me to a lot of unbelievable waves internationaly and domesticly and there was always a surfboard around when the waves were junk which introduced me to stand up surfing where you go way faster especially in florida since its so small a lot and I found myself standup surfing when the waves were good with mostly garrett and the smith brothers and everyone at inlet, bellyboarding is not fun to watch unless its mike stewart or jeff hubbard at pipe, but jeff was upset with me for hitting on his girl but I didn’t know, fuck him I didn’t know, anyway unfortunately theres no scene here as were in a geographicly undesirable area for bodyboarding and boardwalk, wabasso, and inlet used to be good for bodyboarding 10 plus years ago, surfer for life.i am friends with paul roach he has a great family and is the nicest guy you could ever meet and rips on any board. he works construction and is the best drop kneer in the world so the industry is fucked right now .but everyone has there own passion and respect it reguardless what there riding in the ocean or on land.ALOHA B.HINTON
