It’s a Shros
Back at Sacred Craft in October a cool longhair surfer kid dropped off this vintage board at our booth shaped by Bill Shrosbree (pictured) aka Shros.
We are pretty sure it was originally a single fin with the Freestyle quad boxes added later.
Shros shaped the Rip Curl label boards out of Moonlight Glassing in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

I can’t afford three or four thousand dollars a year plus wetsuits, gas, etc.

Capitalism is not the enemy. Its our own inability to handle it. Capitalism is a form of freedom. No all of us are capable of managing freedom (clearly obvious). Grow up, take pride in where you live, and take responsibility for your own life. Government is not going to change this. We (you) have to. Thats sort of calling the kettle black isn’t it. Hateful is only in your own mind. You don’t know the intent of the person who posted. I think it’s sort of a positive post. Boards are too expensive. We can build an alternative community that also helps the economy. But you have to look beyond your self and your selfishness. It’s not about you and your kids and your job and your surf t-shirts.

A high school kid should always pay way more than 765.00 for a 6 2″ Al Merrick. With this e economy your right surfboards should be a lot more so the retailer has more of a profit margin. Shocking but true.

Next time go to Surfy Surfy. I don’t think there’s a board in there that cost that much (>$1,400 you paid), and they are ALL “Bitchen”! And for those high schoolers saving their lunch money, they have used boards as well as new. Hey if you are going to keep a board for at least a few years, you can get a NEW one there that will come out way less per day than even lunch money. Think about it next time before you go buy your “kook box”, because they don’t sell them there.
