    Hi JP,
How would you describe the way these ride? Most stubby boards I’ve ridden have a big wide tails: traditional fishes, rocket(y) shortboards etc. Does the pointy tail mean it’ll hold in a hollow wave? Is it a one trick board for cheater fives only? Just wondering…

The primary purpose of the Thumb is to hang 5.
Originally Thumbs were single fins. Now powered with the Campbell Brothers 5 fin Bonzer system the Thumb is a fully functioning surfboard. You can put in rail and crack the lip, throw down full wrapping cutbacks, it’s awesome.
The extreme pintail really locks you in, and the thumb will charge overhead surf as long as you can clear that round nose on the drop.
I surf mine in beachbreaks and points.
The Thumb has become my daily driver if you can believe it.

I rode my Thumb at soft fluffy Blackies, barreling rj’s, and punishing Wedge in Newport. Wide and thick got you in early, and the extreme pintail let you put it on rail and hold you in the barrel. Mine was an original singlefin version with the microwaves, haven’t ridden the bonzer model but can only guess it lights it up even more.
