Attn: Board Hunters

FYI to all Surfy peeps, I just became aware of this newer website called Board Hunt.com that allows you to buy and sell used boards. It’s nicer than Craigslist and easier to use than the Surfermag.com classifieds. I’m trying it out with a used 6’0″ Slingerland twin keel Fish that we have at the shop. Check it out, clicky clicky.

rerip.com was full of boards from Bunker in Encinitas – otherwise looked like a cool concept site

I think it’s okay for surf shops to use these websites as long as they are up front about it and don’t spam.

making money is good but negotiate hard. a couple of the boards sr has up there they paid the original owner (my friend) half what they are asking. maybe they should have a commercial resale section so you know what the deal is.

I just find it frustrating when you go to a site for used boards, and have to sift through the shops’ multiple postings (or worse, some guy, in Oceanside, selling pop-outs). I like autotrader where you can check a box for private seller only.

I noticed boardhunt has a business only check box in their filter which solves the sifting problem. I did this and it displayed only 4 pages out of the 19 total. Seems like the majority are individual home users which is good news

RE: usedsurf.com – they are a factory warehouse in san clemente, not a user based website. for locals it might be a good consignment option(if like losing 25%) and it looks like they are filled up until MArch 15th?
