the hull and s rail theory behind my fish and sputniks is to take a wider flatter board and make it responsive and allow for full rail turns without losing the speed and skatey-ness which is the reason we are riding them! similar to adding double wings and late outline curve I am playing a little slight of hand with the norm.for example wider fish typeboards tend to struggle on full speed roundhouse cutbacks, typically starting to break loose when the surfer puts the board parralell to the wave right before the rebound into the lip or whitewater. the combo of my slight hull bottom and s rail make the board feel narrower up front and go to a rail surprisingly easy, just gotta find that happy medium so the board does’nt sit to low in the water and bog, hence the double concave and its critical placement. hope that answers your ? and 5-6 130 sounds like the silver scalloped gem is right in your wheelhouse — s.a.
