For Sale: Hynson/Hobie Collaboration

A friend of Surfy Surfy needs to pay his daughter’s fall tuition so this beautiful surfboard is up grabs.

Some years ago surfer/shaper legend Mike Hynson teamed up with the gang at Fort Hobie to make a limited series of bitchin’ replicas of the board Mike rode in a small surf film nobody has ever heard of called Endless Summer.

9’6″ crisp shape with beautiful stringers, volan glass job, hot glass-on fin and the iconic red, white & blue pinstripes.

$2500

I’ve never been a big fan of hobie boards… they are just too hard for me to do anything with.

Now that is FUNNY and the best comment made sar for sure . Sorry though , sand sliding will cost you $2.5 K. and you will have wax the bottom !

You will notice that Hynson went further than anyone in the sand , but then Robert was tackled , he did not look to stoked about losing the race either !

Thanx for the smile amigo , get some waves ….Rob

I guess what i was trying to say is they tend to be too heavy for me… but I see honest input was not what some were looking for here… anon… do you work for Hobie?

I would also like to add anon you need to fix on the product and not be abusive to the potential customers… Now I’m going to say bad things about Hobie to anybody who will listen… work on those marketing skills dude… sell me; tell me why is your board good? and how are you going to make it to be anything but an unresponsive log?

This board is being sold by a private party, not Hobie.

This blog is a Hobiephobic free zone.

Are you telling me to be nice JP?

Ok just for you sweetie cos i love ya sooo much…

I think Hobies are best most rad surf boards in the world… and even though they are unresponsive logs they look nice sliding down sand dunes and everyone should buy one.

    There was that better?

That board is a replica of what Hynson rode in 1966. Are you trying to tell me that all Hobie surfboards are de facto unresponsive logs?

  • Paula the Surf Mom
    September 7, 2007

No not all of them…. just the ones I’ve riden

The board is no longer for sale.

J.P. : i apologize this favor turned into such a sad comment on the current sate of surfing and those who call themselves surfers.

Anonymous : I have known J.P. since he was a toddler and not knowing anything other than Surfy Surfy about the web world asked him to post this as a favor to myself and my family. J.P. , his Mom , Dad and like minded Moonlight friends continue to struggle to make a living doing what they love and upholding the the finest traditions and craftsmanship of the the surfboard world. They are of a caliber and carachter most of us humans will never know , they sacrifice daily to keep the heart of surfing pumping true soul and authenticity. They are treasures in a world of trash.

Paula : i checked out your profile and it seems to me as a teacher ( my wife teaches 4th. grade ) you would be sympathetic to our motive of selling the board for my daughter’s tuition.Trust me , the good people at Hobie are cut from the same cloth as J.P. and Moonlight and would never dignify your initial negative remarks with a responce of any kind . Thankfully surfers from Phil Edwards , Mike Hynson , Corky Carroll , Gary Proper ,Fletcher Sharpe , Eddie AIkau , Joyce Hoffman to Sean Hagar, young Tyler Warren and the current world longboard champ have not had your problem with responsiveness.

As for the Hynson , this blog world is too strange for me , i am going to wax it ( on the deck ) , grab J.P. and go surfing.

    Peace …out ….Rob
