September 30, 2011A kid from Mexico, Africa, South America, Cuba, and many more would give their left nut for just a fin from one of those boards. I find this gross and self involved much like the style in which Dane surfs. Look at the style of Derek Hynd and look at Danes style. Look at the energy. Very different vibe. Dane is a “Trust Fund” surfer.

Don’t act like you’ve never enjoyed watching one of his heats or clips. If you’re just pointing out how many boards Dane has while calling it wasteful and gluttonous then let me just point out how many boards Byrd has in la Jolla; a whole warehouse full that just sit there! If JP posted a picture of all the boards in Byrd’s warehouse y’all’d get wet over it!

But what happens with our star system of things is that there is idol worship and things are given where some people have to put their hard working dollar towards a stick they can’t afford.
