“Pioneer” is a bit much. The pioneers were Hobie Alter, Dale Velzy, Hap Jacobs, Reynolds Yater, John Severson, Bud Browne, Bruce Browne, Greg MacGillivray, Bob Simmons, Butch Van Artsdalen, Greg Noll and about a hundred others before you come down to the bottom of the barrel to Smith.
Congratulations on naming all the well known mainstream veterans. Sometimes the underground guys deserve recognition too. John Smith started OP Surfboards in the 60s and the first surf accessory company.
