Surfboards by Shawn Stussy

Shawn Stussy was one of my surf icons when I as in high school back in the 1980s. I always liked his style of art and whenever I wore his clothes I had good luck meeting girls. Plus he was cool because he was a surfboard shaper and not just some fashion monkey.

So I have been geeking pretty hard that Stussy brought these super clean twin fins to Moonlight to be glassed for his contribution in Billabong’s Art of Shaping this weekend. I want one super super bad.
Stussy’s new label is called S Double.
He also has a great blog, check it out.

JP, i don’t want to rain on yer parade cuz i was a fan of Stussy boards as well but i think his new
label is making things in China when he has plenty of money and is not forced to….
you may want to have a talk with him and get him to be on board with yer good ethics and standards!
(hate to be a neg but if it helps him change his ways, then ok)

Miss the old Ecep store in laguna. My first board was a 6,2″ rounded pin thruster STUSSY I bought used from Newport Surf and Sport. Kids today get their first Quiver used by Clay Marzo.

Those boards are sick. I wouldn’t even want to ride them. I would just hang them on my wall in the living room. They are surf art. Good one Shawn!

@Anonymous= The store was called Equipe 🙂

They’re cool but look a tiny bit “off” without the Stussy script and the “SS cube.” Who am I kidding, I’ll get one.

The best board i have ever road was a beat up stussy a pro gave me, 6′ twin fin with a bevel on the rail, had it copied when i broke it they didn’t put the bevel on, board was mediocre.
Can I find the right bevel again somewhere?
