December 22, 2009interesting that a lot more shapers seem to be using bonzer style bottom contours this year, whether they acknowledge it or not: cole (trunk board), CI (ft. knox), gh (all models), rusty (hustler), xanadu (hobyo), uhuru (soulcraft). i’m sure there are more, but i’m not inclined to continue & i didn’t look through every single board maker listed. just find it interesting…

December 23, 2009anyone have a GH speed egg that they can give feedback on? thinking thruster – but have heard the bonzer set up is faster? looking at a 6’6″ – 6’8″ to fit between my fish and step up? thanks and happy bd gary

December 23, 2009Anonymouse re: bonzer egg: I have a 7’0″ bonzer speed egg from GH. Its fast on sections while still being completely pumpable, and it gets more waves than longboards… plus you can take it to thumping beachbreaks. In other words, its insane.

October 26, 2011I think the title “Shaper” is understated. Maybe we should term Gary a “Hydro-dynamicist”, since there is so much more to shaping than just the board. The term should encompass the understanding of the medium in which the board moves and the physical charactoristics of the rider.
