This is one of my favorite boards we’ve made in 2009. A tasty 5’10” roundpin Bonzer5 shaped by Malcolm Campbell. Nice resin tint, bamboo fins, gloss and polish deck and rails with wetsanded gloss bottom. Custom for Geoff. Hopefully we will get another big south swell so he can unleash this thing.
Ok so I’ve been reading this blog for awhile and there are ALWAYS new bonzer fin boards being featured. I’m currently riding a 6’5″ single fin “fishy” shape, and believe me – you have my attention. What will I gain by riding a bonzer set-up? Convince me and I may order my next board through Moonlight.
P.S. My single fin is actually an old school CI board glassed at Moonlight, so I guess its repeat business.
Christopher, a single fin is a good start. If you like the way a single fin surfs then it’s a natural progression to a Bonzer. Imagine pushing your single fin harder, faster and more critical with the benefit of the Bonzer siderunners. A good test is to glass Bonzer siderunners on your existing single fin. If that feels good get a real one.
What I like about the Bonzer is that it takes a lot of energy to get it going but once it starts, it is a rocket… You can literally feel it do it’s thing… Such goodness. The pinlines on that board are sick.

August 3, 2009Christopher,
Borrow a bonzer and ride it and you’ll see for yourself why it’s a great design.
Don’t take this the wrong way, but the onus isn’t on anyone else to convince you why you should have one.
Also, there’s lots of great info out there on the merits of the design, like the Surfer’s Path article with Malcolm.
Peace.
