While checking out the closeouts at Cardiff Reef, everyone should see the awesome installation that is behind the Kook, just awesome. The movement and feel to it is insane and looks like it’s pretty low budget which is great considering how much money was wasted on that piece of crap statue from Hemet. The symbolism is great- we have this expensive statue of a Kook on a small wave in the foreground (ie. all the yuppies clogging up the lineups)and then we have this low budget fins-free top turn on a great looking wave right behind it, I think it pretty much sums up the experience of surfing in North County nicely. I hope that meathead from Hemet doesn’t take it down…
