Firsties

This is Thomas Campbell’s board from 2004. It was the first solid brown opaque resin tint I’d ever seen. I thought he was out of his mind.
I remember I spent an entire afternoon polishing this board. At the time dark color resin tints were rare, especially on Bonzers.
Years later Chris Christenson told me he had checked this board out at a party or somewhere and he noticed that the polish job was really good, so that stoked me out. Then Chris upped the ante and made me polish his black opaque boards.
This brown board is also the first board I ever photographed with a digital camera. Obviously I had the settings wrong due to the grain and flat color.

This was the first Bonzer I ever surfed. Kit had it at the time and we paddled out at OH Ocean Beach (SF) and had a good time. I’m down with brown…

Yep, that was a great board. 6’5″ round pin. T Moe ended up putting it in the used board rack at Mollusk and a Frenchman came in about 10 minutes after T Moe left and scooped it up and took it back to France. Hopefully it is being put to good use in the SW.
