Divine inspiration from Bob Simmons. Surfing is probably the only part of today’s society besides music where the younger generation gives respect to the pioneers. Gotta know your past to know your future. Guys like Ian Zamora are putting their own stamp on things of course (note the urban street art logo). And the new generation of ripper shapers are putting their Simmons inspired boards in positions on waves that Bob Simmons himself didn’t get a chance to explore. Who knows where Simmons would have taken the surfboard if his life had not been cut short?

All you B.O. lovers should look up Barney Frank and Chris Dodd – see what committees they’ve been on, taking millions from financial firms, and stifling the regulators’ requests for stricter oversight. Republican policies my ass – it takes two to tango.

November 7, 2008I made one of these after traveling and hanging out with Ian on the east coast in the spring. I have been surfing about 3-4 times a week for the last 2 months and mine gets used more than any other board in my quiver. The first ? out of my friends mouth before a session is “Are you going to ride your Simmons.” If I am not riding it some one else is. I got to fondle RK’s as well when I was in NY. They pump up and down the line faster than any board I have ridden. The simplicity of the design is rediclously functional and has really helped my surfing. I made mine out of 1.5 eps stringerless so it is also my lightest board even with a double six top and a single six bottom. Ian if you read this thanks for the pointers on the shaping and I can’t wait to try my jet tailed fish you shaped me as well. If anyone out there is thinking of buying this board, I would jump on it. Truly a must have for any complete quiver.

November 8, 2008The board looks like it would be a blast to ride!! I would love to try something like that out here on the North Gulf Coast of Florida (Pensacola,Fl). I’m all for trying out different shapes regardless if they have been around a while. Not everyone wants or enjoys riding the same ol’ shapes nor do all shapes work the same for everyone. Im all for the fun factor!!! I need all the help I can get with that living here on the Lake of Mexico. As far as all of the political banter that has been in the posts….please post that crap on the appropriate political sites not a site like SURFY SURFY that is supposed to bring positive vibes to it subscribers!!! I’m not happy with the turnout either but so what….life goes on and we should stand behind whoever we as the electorate choose. If ya don’t vote…shut up and get ready for 2012!!!
