5’4″ stringerless “Sputnik”, handshaped by Shawn Ambrose in Oceanside, California USA. Ice-9 foam. Retro 90’s carbon stripe and full 4 oz S cloth glassing. Bamboo glass-on fins by Marlin Bacon. “Scallop” airbrush by Peter St. Pierre.
Sometimes stringerless blanks will twist if glassed lightly so I dug out that old roll of carbon fiber leftover from the Kelly Slater Momentum days to act as stringers and hold it’s form.
I’ve ridden this board only twice. It was like skateboarding an old 70’s skate, very loose. At 5’4″ this is the smallest board I’ve ever ridden. I’m kind of out of shape for it, ha.
