Werd. I served free lunch to 160 vets today and met people from WW2, Korea, Vietnam, and both Iraq wars.

Wow, your dad told me your grandfather was a navy pilot, I had no idea that he fought in Midway. To use an era expression… “Nuts!”. Thats so crazy not to mention legendary.

Pinliner is a veteran too for those that don’t know.

    Props to your Grandpops!
Last year I went underway with the Frigate USS Stephen W. Groves, named after a Navy Pilot who flew and fought heroicly and went down in the Battle of Midway.

Just got back from the 9th Annual EC Military Surf Champs down in Nags Head. Good times, good people, and although a bit out of control, good waves. Great way to celebrate our Veterans Day. Rode a 5-fin Bonzer to 4th in the Veterans shortboard division.:)

    ALOHA!

  • Great Post!
My gramps was a doctor in the Navy during WWII.
I hope we never forget all they did for us!
