The CI was actually shaped by Al Merrick, it was a wedding gift from him. The board was made in the summer of 2000. It was glassed with “D size” cloth and has held up real well. I stopped riding it after Burton bought Channel Islands because I figured now a the board is a collector’s item. If I start surfing it again I would like to pull the plastic fins out of it and try to find some of those nicer composite fins Red-X used to make.
The Malcolm Bonzer is a real gem. Trusty Dusty rode it at 3rd Point during that epic April ’07 swell. It doesn’t see much action around here in Mushville but maybe this winter?

November 10, 2007I see right through this. Malcom probably shaped both of them. Either that or Marlin did the CI
Did I answer the trick question?
Don’t I win a free leash or something?
