The fact that there are great shapers out there that I’ve never heard of makes me feel good.

Allan Gibbons was a key shaper at Channel Islands surfboards for over 15 years until Jake “HP” Burton drove him out because snowboard clothing companies know more about making surfboards than anyone else in the world.

I stopped by the Moonlight Factory yesterday and was absolutely blown away by the glassing and pinlines on the boards. Good work guys! I wanted to keep them for myself (but you know what hey say about the cobbler and his shoes).

Regarding the comment by “Anonymous”, I was presented with a reasonable offer, which I opted not to take, as I want to explore some different avenues.

November 19, 1993 – The Los Angeles Dodgers trade pitcher Pedro Martinez to the Montreal Expos for Delino DeShields.

2007 – Channel Islands trades Allan Gibbons for some kid in Thailand.

    It’s their loss folks.
