Skate to the Surf

Bill Caster was well known for his incredible surfboards but he made skateboards too. He made me this skateboard when I was Jr. High school. Caster used a layer of fiberglass and resin on his skateboards. The “Caster Blaster” was my transportation all over town. I never learned to skate ramps or anything like that. I always skated with a surfboard under my arm, headed to Swami’s or one of the local taco shops.

I owned a Caster skate also. With its wood & fiberglass blend it had an awesome feel to it. Loved the “boing”!
