russ short proves that you DO need to wax nose to tail, rail to rail.

    I stand corrected, sorry bonzerboys.

Anyone know what video the frame of Rob is from? (if it is a still frame)

The footage was shot by Cyris Sutton,
for a project of his, which has hit some barriers.

Thanks warm. Is ‘lefts’ the name of the project?

Yes sir, ‘Lefts’ is the working title for Cyris, yet I believe some politics
have entered the land of soul.
Not sure what it’s all about but there’s some amazing stuff he shot in
    New Zealand as well.
    Great camera work.
    Bonzer stuff is pretty good.
The most I saw was fishy fish fish.
    really good speed/cam exposure goodies.
    Let’s hope it happens.
Cyris is a good kid and deserves the chance to show his work.

Not sure if this relates to Cyrus’s project, prolly doesn’t but I talked to some local filmers about thier project recently. When I asked who they were going to feature, they told me it’s getting tougher to get good surfers to film because alot of top names are requiring a percentage from the film or $$$ upfront. Makes sense with and films being made.

Hope he finishes it up and makes one called ‘rights’. 😀

sorry, that should be ‘so many films being made.’

I’d really like to see a film done like ‘Sea Of Joy” today.
No talk, just a great soundtrack made for the flick.
I love ‘Surf Movie’. Many find it boring but I think it’s one of, if not, thee best surf ‘MOVIES’of today.
    That movie is a classic.

I talked to Cyrus at the Fish Fry and the Machado film is in limbo but some of the Chile/Bonzer footage may play on Fuel tv. I am trying to get a clip to post on surfy surfy. I’ve seen a couple of waves from the footage and if you thought Rob was smooth on a tri fin you will freak out on how smooth he is on the Bonzer. It’s almost scary.
The Russ Short footage is also insane, he looks like Joel Tudor (or is it the other way around?)

    Stay tuned.

I have glimpsed fuel tv and it is the wrong place to put such footage. Imagine having Hendrix playing in a jr. high auditorium rather than Fillmore West — sacrelidge! kit

I’ll take it anywhere I can get it! Fuel is pretty bad but I still pay for it for when there is something good on.
Come on Jp squeeze the kid for the footage.

Have the first movie by Cyrus riding waves.Has a unique style very well done.Doesn’t look anything like your standard surf porn.Hope the problem gets sloved and he can finish “Lefts”

I actually really like Fuel’s Firsthands when they profile surfers.

That footy though, should be kept fresh for a film if at all possible. Hope it works out for him.

If memory serves me it’s a single fin thumb? With some fin box surprises?
The board rob is riding is featured on the Campbell site in the photo of MC and DC on the grass w/Quiver of new and old gems I think.
That same red swallow tail was the board MC used as the canvas for my shortboard. The shape has these subtle
nods to the 80’s with extremely high performance 21st century Campbellisms.
    Best shortbard I’ve ever ridden.
    highly reccomend the shape.
