We are stoked to put this on display alongside what will surely be a heavy hitting lineup of big wave surfboard crafts. This vehicle is our paean to the space-jazz philosopher known as Sun Ra, a true surfer of the cosmos. His music and futurism have inspired us for decades. The color design on the board derives specifically from a piece of hand drawn album art he made in the 1970s (slide 8). Music is the Muse, and Space Is the Place. Special thanks to Richard Phelps of Silkworm Screen Printing for his huge assist in scaling the structure of the art. And as always, major gratitude to @studio609 for their glassing labor of love.
