Event: 70’s Surf Flick at California Surf Museum, Oceanside

The California Surf Museum’s 2007 Surf Film Night, in association with Oceanside Museum of Art’s; “The 70s: Surf Photography by Jeff Divine”, presents a one-time showing of Hal Jepsen’s 1975 psychedelic surf classic, Super Session this Saturday, August 18, in Oceanside’s Civic Center Library Community Rooms.

Preceding the film will be a short, FREE reception will take place from 6:30-7pm at OMA for all peeps to view Jeff Divine’s classic photos and boards.

1976 World Surfing Champion Peter Townend is scheduled to introduce the film with a few words about Hal and the 70s era and call the raffle winners.
The surf museum will host a short raffle featuring two signed Jeff Divine items and a few Hal Jepsen-signed original Super Session movie posters, etc.
Admission is $5 for the film viewing, or free to CSM and OMA members.

New Groovy Surf Film: One California Day

There is a new surf film touring this summer to be excited about, One California Day.

It stars Surfy Surfy favorite, Tyler “Pickles” Warren and features an appearance by guru shaper, Terry Martin.

One California Day isn’t just an aggro jump cut surf video. Shot in crisp 16 mm OCD is pure surf cinema with a lot of time, effort and money put into it.

If you live in San Diego county you can catch the local premiere this Friday at the iconic La Paloma theater in historic downtown Encinitas.
