Amber Fish up for Grabs

Here is a super clean “used” board. It’s in flawless condition. We’ve seen new boards in big corpo surf chains with more dents than this thing.
5’10” x 20 1/4″ x 2 5/8″
Gary Hanel  performance quad fish, with smooth resin tint by Gary Stuber at Moonlight Glassing.
Built November 2011.
Features a rare set of 101 Fin Co. bamboo fins for the Lokbox fin system.
Purist will hate the rear foot traction pad, but it’s fairly minimalist and if you plant your back foot dead center in that fin cluster you are going to crack the lip so hard it’s relatives will track you down for revenge.
For sale at Surfy Surfy for $550.00

Shros Red Fin

Check out this classic longboard handshaped by Bill Shrosbree (aka Shros) under his Fresh Pineapple label.
Clean volan glass-job by the faithful crew at Moonlight Glassing where Shros shaped a thousand surfboards back in the day.

Originally custom shaped by local jazz musician Boaz we have this board for sale at Surfy Surfy.
(Boaz needs the money for a new guitar or mandolin or something).
10″ glass-on red fin is the icing on the cake.
Mint condition. No leash plug.
Perfect for small glassy days of which there are plenty.

Choice Rocket

6’9″ x 19 1/2″ x 2 1/2″
This one walked into the shop the other day.

Shaped by Rich Pavel under his Choice label and glassed at Moonlight Glassing in the early 1990’s late 1980’s.
Interesting that it was originally marked as a quad twinzer.
Performance rocker. This board gives the vibe it’s seen a few good days of surf.
Ghost traction pad images are always cool.
Lots of patina but mostly watertight. Needs some TLC.

Looking forward to riding it soon!

*UPDATE: Shaper Rich Pavel posted the following comment,

It was the late 80’s. Think of the explosive “Potz” Twinzers & The renound Glenn Minami – of Blue Hawaii fame.
Rich here from OZ. Hanging in the shaping bays down under with the likes of Neil Purchase Jr. and the retired Neil Purchase Sr. We are going over an anthology of design. Have been speaking a lot of many designs not the least of which is the board you have there. Keep that thing for sure. One of the few design experiments we compiled that Jeff Ching rode. Ching borrowed one off of Stevie Lis thru Chioce Studios at the time and shralped the thing in solid winter conditions. Need to reference it when I return. That board was a custom commissioned and built expressly for Davey Hall. Davey, a professional (an exceptional exercise fitness physiology specialist) trainer had a few of those made. Built as Twinzers, ala Martin Potter via Laguna Canyon originally. Big story on that series of design

Skip Frye Falsa Balsa Egg

7’0″ Skip Frye egg.
“Falsa Balsa” airbrush, so it looks like you a shredding a solid wood board from afar. Sneaky!
Snazzy red glass-on tri-fin.
A sophisticated bottom concave system that is impossible to photograph and display on the internets.
Classic Skip rails for technical carving and trimming.

7’0″ x 21″ x 2 7/8″
This near mint condition used board is for sale at Surfy Surfy Surf Shop.
Tiny little superficial crack on left fin. Small scuff on top of the right fin. Itty bitty chip on tail (all visible in photo #3)
Skip says he used a Clark Foam blank for this board.
Shaped and glassed custom in 2011 and being sold by original owner for $2k.
