    1. Order a custom then you can get whatever YOU like. No lam, small lam, big lam or 5 lams. Custom. I saw an old Choice Lis kneeboard in Surfy one day with a large lam. Thats they way they did it. I like that.

  11. You waited 3 1/2 years for pavel to machine shape a fish and then you get the blue tint and pinliines on the wrong side? Lame. Dude Rainbow Pavels are better.

    1. The fish hype was ten years ago, Rich has been shaping fish since the 70's and learned from it's creator, Steve Lis. Learned to shape guns from Brewer. Learned gliders from Skip and discussed fin design with Greenough. Are you missing something? Yes. Will you ever get it? No. This is a classic keel fish handshaped today. Fashion and hype do not last, the classics are forever.

  21. lol u sound like u drank a little too much koolaid. lis may have invented the keel fish but that dont make his or pavel's the be all end all. skips boards arent the shit either. its just that everyone thinks they are and the mystique perpetuates itself. he discussed fin design with greenough? obviously didnt listen cuz all i see are double foiled low aspect rudders. annnnnd u know that board came off a machine right? u probably didnt huh, is that like i just told u the easter bunny is just your mom?? no matter, cnc'd sticks are hell of a lot less imperfect than hipstersoul handshapes. hypeyhypey! look before u leap barney.

    1. Who shapes a better fish? Did you not see the pictures there of Rich handshaping this board? This remark makes all of your points invalid.

  22. I think Skip, Toby, Lis have marketed themselves and their wares well. They understand they can't compete on unit production with larger operations so they create demand (price per unit)with low stock, long waits, and finely crafted product. This approach works when you are connected to the history and evolution of surfing as these three are connected. Obviously, they leverage street cred to support demand in the face of bad traditional business practices (unfulfilled orders, long waits, artist interpretation on a custom job). However, it'll test your customer base as can be evidenced here.

Solution to all of this and an extremely liberating experience: Build your own, but still glass it it at Moonlight. Good glass is like a good putter. Covers up all your other miscues.
