One year wait for a custom by Pavel?
Beautiful board! Pavel is the man!but why the ugly ass huge logo?
beauty is in the eye of the board holder.
Longer than a year, bro...
way longer than a year...
Super stoked! Rich is an amazingly nice guy and I am very happy to be surfing a piece of history from a living legend. I can not thank all my friends at Surfy and Moonlight enough.-Harry
Harry, cool looking little fish!!! love the colour combo on it! large logo's are cool. Have fun on it and well just enjoy yourself. Peace, taco's & olas. Doug
Look at me I have a Choice fish. Pretty lame dude.
aww someones butthurt?
Nice Twin Fin Fish
What are the dims btw?
those fins never have enough resin bead IMO.
Could use a bigger logo on the deck.
Order a custom then you can get whatever YOU like. No lam, small lam, big lam or 5 lams. Custom. I saw an old Choice Lis kneeboard in Surfy one day with a large lam. Thats they way they did it. I like that.
You waited 3 1/2 years for pavel to machine shape a fish and then you get the blue tint and pinliines on the wrong side? Lame. Dude Rainbow Pavels are better.
It's a reverse layup.
haha, is that you Fishy???
That color combo is awesome, that board is sick no doubt about it - congrats!!
It's growing on me. Sick!
http://ink-cartridge.tumblr.com/post/23388757845your picture has over 4000 notes.....
What's with the retards criticizing the board? And stop using the word 'dude' - you sound like a freaking ninja turtle.
Michelangelo would totally shred that board dude
At my age I cannot wait over a year!
Wow, the venom and the love is still out there! Either love him or hate him......pretty neat board though. Would I order again? Nope, I tasted the koolaide and it was bad
Dude, how many times have you told that story? Might as well just walk around with your Swaylocks link.
Duuuude, I didn't tell the story. Just commented on the Vibe, of this thread.......it's an either , or deal with him, isn't it?
the big gliders, the mid lengths, the fishes, the long boards, all the one's i've seen from this guy over the years in the shops new, And used are nice boards... i wouldn't consider them exceptional... with all due respect maybe someone could shed some light to me why all the whooo pla, and what am i missing? guess i gotta ride 1?? sincerely, thanks.
I own 4 Pavel Creekfish... all MAGIC! Ride one and you will know the difference... Worth the wait! I have a 7'oh stepup on order and try not to think about it... hopefully I get it in time for this winter!
A beautiful surf craft indeed. Built at the hands of master craftsmen in Encinitas. Cant ask for much more than that :)Congrats Harry! Have fun.
The fish hype was ten years ago, Rich has been shaping fish since the 70's and learned from it's creator, Steve Lis. Learned to shape guns from Brewer. Learned gliders from Skip and discussed fin design with Greenough. Are you missing something? Yes. Will you ever get it? No. This is a classic keel fish handshaped today. Fashion and hype do not last, the classics are forever.
lol u sound like u drank a little too much koolaid. lis may have invented the keel fish but that dont make his or pavel's the be all end all. skips boards arent the shit either. its just that everyone thinks they are and the mystique perpetuates itself. he discussed fin design with greenough? obviously didnt listen cuz all i see are double foiled low aspect rudders. annnnnd u know that board came off a machine right? u probably didnt huh, is that like i just told u the easter bunny is just your mom?? no matter, cnc'd sticks are hell of a lot less imperfect than hipstersoul handshapes. hypeyhypey! look before u leap barney.
Who shapes a better fish? Did you not see the pictures there of Rich handshaping this board? This remark makes all of your points invalid.
I think Skip, Toby, Lis have marketed themselves and their wares well. They understand they can't compete on unit production with larger operations so they create demand (price per unit)with low stock, long waits, and finely crafted product. This approach works when you are connected to the history and evolution of surfing as these three are connected. Obviously, they leverage street cred to support demand in the face of bad traditional business practices (unfulfilled orders, long waits, artist interpretation on a custom job). However, it'll test your customer base as can be evidenced here. Solution to all of this and an extremely liberating experience: Build your own, but still glass it it at Moonlight. Good glass is like a good putter. Covers up all your other miscues.
Rich is on some island laughing.Harry is on his new board smiling. All the haters are in a dark room angry as hell.;)
