Dan has put this board up for sale at Surfy Surfy Surf Shop. It has lots of patina, has a soft spot on the deck. A little TLC and it's good to go. Here is a clip of David Nuuhiwa from the 1972 film Rainbow Bridge,

ReplyDeleteAny of you old buggers out there have experience with the legrope/fin connection? It must have really affected the performance of the board.
Being one of the old buggers, for me i just didn't like the old leg ropes as they always seem to get under foot, i did wear them things when we use to go down to the point in Mex. Peace, taco's & olas. Doug
DeleteIt's always trippy to see early footage of shortboarding. Everything was so new and progressive in terms of style, technique and equipment. That must have been awesome to be a surfer during the early 70's/late 60's!
ReplyDeleteYes it was a good time to be a surfer back then,there were many days when the surf was smaller it would be just you and a couple of friends out at Swamis so much fun. THANKS JP for putting the Rainbow Bridge flim clip in, so cool to see David fin slippin on those waves, David was sooo cool. I also had a Dyno board but sold it as Marko use to make fun of me for having a board from Huntington,i sold it and got a Bahne. If you want to see a really good flim on that time slot see Sea Dreams, best surf flim ever!! IMHO. Peace, taco's & olas. Doug
