Re: "left wing turds..." it's not that simple. Support is about evenly divided for sopa/pipa in Congress between Dems and Repubs. Obama has already come out against it once in its earlier version 'cause he said it threatened freedom of speech. In CA, Boxer and Feinstein are for it, but Pelosi, who is way more left wing than either of them, is against it.
What seems to be a better indicator of support is not left wing/right wing, but how much money individual politicians have gotten from media companies that support SOPA/PIPA. More money received=support.
Liberty I would put as a virtue of the right libertarian. Socialism, planned economy, money printing (ability of government to devalue the fruits of your labor) and of course regulation, never ending government over reach, invasion into the private economy and the persistent hindering of liberty I would place as values of the modern left. The fact remains that these bills are not a result of left wing or right wing values, but a result of the influence that rich and powerful media companies have over policy makers. And I wouldn't cite censorship as a value left wingers love. The ACLU, often derided as the biggest left wing turd organization out there, is against PIPA/SOPA. Meanwhile, most right wingers supported the Patriot Act--the biggest restriction on civil liberties ever enacted since the internment of American Citizens (also supported by right wingers), written and implemented by a right wing administration.
