Super cool longboard handshaped by old school guru Mike Slingerland in Encinitas, California.
Lots of features. We are calling this one The Sleeper because it looks like a normal log at first glance, but actually has some design elements/upgrades for advanced longboard surfing.
The rails are a blend of classic and modern, functionality and forgiving. There is vee ahead of the fin cluster for rail to rail transitions, you will be able to break your line and thrown down a turn.
2+1 sidebites instead of classic single fin for just that little extra.
Awesome glass-job from the Moonlight Glassing crew with transparent resin tint over t-band stringer, deck patch, rad pinlines and resin panel stripes wrapping around the deck, rails and bottom.

It's a Shros

Back at Sacred Craft in October a cool longhair surfer kid dropped off this vintage board at our booth shaped by Bill Shrosbree (pictured) aka Shros.
We are pretty sure it was originally a single fin with the Freestyle quad boxes added later.
Shros shaped the Rip Curl label boards out of Moonlight Glassing in the late 70's and early 80's.

3,000 Post!!!

Surfy Surfy has reached post number 3,000!

In celebration let's take a look at the Surfy Surfy logo. Surfy Surfy adopted the classic 1979 Moonlight Glassing logo drawn by Dana, a local surfer/artist. There has been several versions of this logo, the one you are seeing now has been refined by Jon Pankopf from Factory 101. The logo depicts the actual persons of the original Moonlight Glassing crew.

From left to right:
Elmo the fin guy. (Elmo no longer works at Moonlight, the exception to the featured crew).
Kenny the sander. (Kenny is regarded as one of the best machine surfboard sanders in the world and owns a mean full rail cutback).
Marko the glosser/polisher. (Marko has worked the night shift for 30+ years and is one of the most stylish surfers you will ever see).
Stuber the glasser. (Stuber is known for his incredible resin color work and is a great noserider).
Peter the airbrusher/pinliner. (Peter knows everything about surfboards and shreds at surfing).
