July 9th: Patches and Popsicles

On Saturday July 9th in addition to the Summer Fun on the 101 event, the wacky Mowgli Surf twins will be at the shop sewing on custom patches on your clothes and handing out free popsicles. So bring an old jacket or hat or backpack something if you want some groovy patches sewn on.

And if you purchase any sweet Mowgli swag 10% of the purchase gets donated to Capri Elementary School, which is where half of team Surfy Surfy attended and got edumacated as youths.

A Festival of Surfy Music July 8th and 9th

What: The 2nd annual Summer Fun on the 101 event featuring 16 bands.

When: Friday July 8th and Saturday July 9th

Friday: 6 pm Lou's Records and Ducky Waddle's at 434 North Coast Highway 101 Leucadia, CA 92024

Saturday: 9 am beach clean up. Moonlight Beach walking north to Beacon's Beach.

Noon-8pm music in the Leucadia Roadside Park (at Leucadia Blvd and coast highway 101)

8pm-10pm music at Surfy Surfy Surf Shop 974 N Coast Hwy 101 (2 blocks north of the roadside park).

This is the Daily Wavester model. A longboard-ey type board built to handle juice.

Ah, the sophisticated subtleties of the Slingerland Spacebar, the Surfy version of the sweet Mini-Simms scene. The Spacebar looks unassuming, but our crafty old school surfboard shaper Mike Slingerland snuck a lot of design into this board. The rocker, foil, rails and bottom are there so you can control the speed you are going to generate on this little surf shuttle of stoke. Screw in your favorite Lokbox quad template and 3-2-1 blast off. Note the lack of a wood stringer, this thing is going to flex out of turns like the way the Enterprise slingshot around the sun to travel in time like in Star Trek episode 19 Tomorrow is Yesterday.

Big Pig

Here is a unique one for the longboard fans. 10'3" Pig handshaped by underground old school soulman Bruce King. This puppy is loaded with features: volan glass, deck panel and pinlines, custom hatchet fin by Fins Unlimited, diamond wood tail block, and Bruce's unique "Nose Blower" double concave for serious tip riders. The Pig outline features a nice hip for rotating cutbacks. It's over 10' but this ain't no plank.
