This piece of guerrilla art appeared under the train trestle at Encinitas Blvd and Hwy 101 in the city of Encinitas. The artist or team of artist are currently unknown. Mistaken as a painted mural at first glance the piece is actually a very intricate mosaic.
The city of Encinitas will most likely remove it before too long so if you are in the area stop and take a look.

Now that is ART!
ReplyDeleteleave it be for all to enjoy..
Cardiff is for Kooks, Encinitas on the other hand...
ReplyDeleteIt's really cool that someone took the time, effort, and money to do this.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, city officials think "well, technically its graffiti, so if we take all the other graffiti down, we have to take this down too."
What they should be thinking is "how do we build a law make exceptions for exceptional art."
Let's Pray that she Stays !

Surfers' Prayer
ReplyDeleteBy Brother Mike Sullivan
My wave that art in the ocean
hollow be thy frame
may they come
until I'm done
on earth man, this is heaven
give us this day
our daily sets
and forgive us our drop ins
as we forgive those who drop in against us
and deliver us from closeouts
amen
