5'10" Mike Hyson shaped for Peter St Pierre under the Bahne Surfboards label in 1969.
Advanced rails and design for the era. Artwork and pinlines by Peter. Iconic symbols of Charlie Chaplin and Mickey Mouse were in reaction to all the Eastern symbols Hynson and crew would have Peter draw on their boards.
Found in a thrift store in 2001 by Tim Elsner. Restored by Richard Reddsurf.
Survived all these decades without getting a leash plug installed.
5'10" x 20" x 2 3/4"
Available for viewing at Surfy Surfy Surf Shop in Leucadia. Not for sale.

I pretty sure my EHO lines was taken fm this 69 Hyson template. Erik told me that he traced out 1 of Pinliner's old Hyson singlefin shape, we stretch mine to 6'1". Glassed by Mooncrew, hot resin pinlines by Peter. Classic Shape!!

The whale doodle is a tribute to a dead whale that washed up on the beach that summer.
ReplyDeleteReddsurf moved to New Orleans with his old lady and is living the creole lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteHynson seems to get overlooked by a lot of surfers but he's tops on my list for a new mind-machine.
