NEW WOOD

Next generation surfer/shaper/fisherman Micah Wood has been working at Moonlight Glassing polishing surfboards with Marko and Elliot all year. Micah is a a great surfer and a fine shaper. He is a rare shaper who can shape, glass, sand and polish. This board is a collab with Micah and Moonlight for the lovely and talented Kaley Swift.
Look for stock Micah Wood Surfboards in the racks of Surfy Surfy Surf Shop in 2011.

Little Orphan Eggie

Hello friends. This 6'6" Bonzer 5 fin e-wing egg needs a good home. It was only ridden once or twice. It was abandoned by it's owner and now resides in the Surfy Surfy Shelter for Orphaned Eggs. It needs a good loving home where it can carve down the line and make sections for someone with a generous heart and an empty rack in the quiver. Won't you adopt an orphaned egg today?
Fees apply.

SIMA nominates non-surfboard as Surfboard of the Year

SIMA, the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association, is a shadowy organization of shadowy men in a dark room who seem to exert some sort of influence on the surf industry, even though nobody really knows why or how.
SIMA in their mighty wisdom have announced that they have nominated an inflatable stand up paddle board as the Surfboard of the Year. source
Surfy Surfy rejects SIMA's nomination and we declare that the handcrafted Brownfish Handplane is the real Surfboard of the Year.
Is the handplane a surfboard? More so than the SIMA rubber ducky raft we say!
So there!

Surfy Bells

It makes perfect sense,

Restored Woody station wagon loaded with decorative surfboards, children's milk ad in Spanish, and a contest air with a pro surfer in a Foster's jersey. These are the things that make me want to drink Budweiser.

RIP: Captain Beefheart

The incredible Bonzer surfboard was invented by bothers Malcolm and Duncan Campbell to the avant garde soundtrack of Captain Beefheart. Don Van Vliet aka Captain Beefheart has passed away at age 69. LA Times obit.

Malcolm gave me a vinyl copy of Spotlight Kid as a gift years ago that I treasure.
