SIMA, the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association, is a shadowy organization of shadowy men in a dark room who seem to exert some sort of influence on the surf industry, even though nobody really knows why or how. SIMA in their mighty wisdom have announced that they have nominated an inflatable stand up paddle board as the Surfboard of the Year. source
Surfy Surfy rejects SIMA's nomination and we declare that the handcrafted Brownfish Handplane is the real Surfboard of the Year. Is the handplane a surfboard? More so than the SIMA rubber ducky raft we say!
So there!
Nick M. getting slotted on his handplane.
The 2010 Surfboard of the Year will be awarded to the surfboard model that features the most exciting design, appeal or innovation. Also nominated in the category are Dwart by Rusty, The Dominator by Firewire, The Dumpster Diver by Channel Islands Surfboards and Scorcher Series by Lost.
ReplyDeleteNo Roberts White Diamond???
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh wtf
ReplyDeleteOne of the first things they tell you in Boy Scouts is do not stand up in the canoe!
ReplyDeleteSIMA is a splinter cell of the Surf Industry Manufacturers Enterprise Network (SIMEN). I haven't personally joined, because I'm afraid of the hep risk.
ReplyDeleteThat's just gay.
ReplyDeleteNot that there is anything wrong with that...
just saying...
and the winner is... dwart
ReplyDeleteremember that SIMA exists to help their members make $$$, there is a great untapped source of $$$ in the SUP world---most of whom are generally clueless and therefore free with their $$$$ Besides aren't the rest of those boards computer shapes touched only be scrapers not shapers?????
ReplyDeleteWTF!!
ReplyDeletePossible surfboard of the year is called a River Runner?!
I smell conspiracy!
Even if a lot of boards are being "programmed"... anything that needs a bike pump to be surf-able belongs in a pool or should just stay up river (though our oceans sure are looking chocolatey lately) :-(
