This is a new surfboard label that is getting some attention. Von Sol by Sean Mattison. Sean was on the Moonlight Glassing surf team when he was a grom back in the early 1980's when he was tearing up the east coast contest circuit. We have 5 of these "Shadow" models in stock at Surfy Surfy Surf Shop. They are pretty interesting. 5 fin boxes and a little micro e-wing. Sean is combining his love for Fish surfboards and shredding into this handy little package.
We have a 5'8", the above 5'10", a 6'0" and a 6'2" in stock if you want to get all Von Shreddy this summer.
I thought you were not promoting shapers who have sold their shit to boardworks or surftech?
ReplyDeleteMake up your mind man.
It's no mini-simms but it looks like a fun summer board.
ReplyDeleteJP,
ReplyDeleteYour store is really awesome! Everything you guys are doing is top quality.Stoked to have my boards in your shop.
...machined, right?
ReplyDeleteFirst anonymous, now you have a chance to get a high quality poly version of this board instead of the crappy pop-out.
ReplyDeleteJoel's Kookbox single fin vs Sean's Von Sol quad. Which should I get?

ReplyDeleteThats a LONG list of shapers to ban... You better print out the list and start enforcing it.

anonymous why don't ya post your real name?? Scared are ya?? I bet ya can't even paddle past the shore break.. What a Kook. Ya must be a has been shaper who never could surf.. To start with the list you put up has many master shapers who have survived decades in the industry.. I myself have been building and surfing boards I have built for almost 40 years.. Personally JP has done a great job putting a nice shop together. So the way I see it your a shaper who can't really shape a life for yourself or a shop owner who couldn't sell a boogie board.. I say get a life and go surfing. Stop being a butt hurt Hater Kook.... Rob Brown I'm not scared are you??? Haters have no Sol
ReplyDeleteyes - lots of master shapers. They all have deals with the popout companies. I could care less. I'll buy their handshaped (mostly are machine shaped / hand finished now) boards. Who cares if they have a board made by surftech.
ReplyDeleteThose who know me well know all about my strict anti pop-out stance. Mattison is well aware of my views and appreciated my honesty. I decided that if I don't give people the option of a nice Moonlight glassed board, shaped by industry veterans like Rob Brown then the pop-out companies win.
ReplyDeletethanks,
JP
Hot blooded aggronauts: cool thy self and focus on making custom sleds that a pop out factory wouldn't attempt.
ReplyDeleteTru dat anon. J.P. this blog is soo addictive.
ReplyDeleteThanks to you and all the moonlight shredders.
Live long and shred hard !!!!
excellent response JP.
ReplyDeleteThe Von Sols are killer boards. They get fondled a lot in the shop. Surfy Surfy encourages groovy surfboard making and subsequent fondling.
ReplyDeleteThe controversy is making me want one.
ReplyDeletethese boards are super SICK. I saw some guy rippin on one today in Oceanside. looks fun. Who shaped it? Mattison?
ReplyDeleteI got Winner!!!No seriously!! awe shucks do I have to jump in here , I was just hoping to get a scrap with an inner web tough guy.
ReplyDeletecarry on - s.a.
Just surfed my new Von Sol and have to state it's the best surfboard I've owned to date! Considering 30 years of surfing I think that's worth sharing. I would highly suggest you give one a try! Surfy Surf knows board performance and they continue to represent the best boards on the market.
