New Surf Film: Dear & Yonder

Dear & Yonder is a new surf film by Thomas Campbell's wife, Tiffany Campbell. It's an all girls surf movie produced by Roxy, a surf themed clothing company. I personally feel that segregated surf films are unnecessary however Dear & Yonder looks pretty good. You can catch the premier Thursday, July 2nd at the historic La Paloma theatre in Encinitas, CA (the 3rd best surf town in America).

Tiki Turbot

My buddy Matt Harrigan fell out of surfing years ago to pursue his dreams of world domination. Now he's back and all surf stoked again, so he ordered his first custom surfboard. Shaped by Gary Hanel (aka GH), this board was designed to clear sections in the long mushy walls of north San Diego county.
Dims: 6'2" length, 15 1/2" nose, 21 1/2" width, 16" tail and 2 7/8" thick.
5/4 S-glass coke bottle green resin tint by Gary Stuber. Bamboo side fins by 101 Fin Co. "Sleepy Tiki" hotrod pinlines by Peter St Pierre. Glossed and polished for looks and longevity.
Matt named this board The Turbot, after a fish that the UK and Canada almost went to war over. Read The Turbot War on Wikipedia.

Jeff Clark

Jeff Clark is a surfboard shaper. Sometimes I surf with him at the mushy spot in front of my house. He rips on his quad fish. Here is a blog post about some big wave thingy he was involved with, click here.

Skate or Die

Rest in Peace to the two legends, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. I am going to pretend I am on the dance floor with Farrah grooving to this song.

Skull!

This seems like something I would normally hate, but for some reason I like it. Pink Sex Wax art skulls on display at the Anderson art gallery in Carpinteria, CA.

Wave the Flag

Mike Slingerland shaped this nice double stringer longboard for Stephen Brown who is a Vietnam veteran and former lifeguard heavy down in Imperial Beach, CA. The image was a full piece fabric inlay. Those things are always iffy but it came out good, *whew*
